Music Tourism

March 2025

As we head into March, winter bids us goodbye and the promise of good weather puts a spring in our step. We’re ready to step outdoors, travel plans are afoot, and there’s just something so happy about the season.

Adding to the cheer is the sound of music. Attending live concerts is no more the purview of a few; the entire world has woken up to the thrill of catching their favourite artistes perform live—with their tribe. It’s a community bonding experience like none other and this has given the experience economy a massive push.

In our Cover Story, we delve into this trend, bringing you first-person accounts of excited fans who travelled to attend concerts when they couldn’t get tickets in a city close by, and also showcase four global destinations where upcoming concerts are slated—Seoul, Philadelphia, Frankfurt, and Toronto. We’ve curated an itinerary for each of these cities so you can truly make it a trip for the soul.

Closer home, we celebrate spring by taking you to Srinagar, where flowers recur as a motif, stringing the city together in harmony (look out for the tulip festival). It’s also cherry blossom season in Washington, DC, where we embark on a culinary ride, raising a toast to its iconic bars and discovering new dining options where the person on the next
table could well be an influential politico!

Celebrating International Women’s Day, we honour some of the women who make Air India the success it is, and chat with the first Indian woman to receive two Michelin stars, Chef Garima Arora, who’s just opened her first-ever restaurant in India. So much to celebrate, so much to cheer.

Happy reading and Namaste!
